Dmitry Badovsky was born in Moscow on April 20, 1973.
In 1995, he graduated with honors from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Philosophy, Devision of Political Science.
In 1995, he received a Masters degree in Political Science from joint program of Moscow State Institute of International Relations and Instituts d'études politiques (France).
Candidate of Political Sciences, Docent (Associate Professor).
Candidate’s dissertation: «The ruling elites of Russia: the main stages of formation and transformation tendencies of the Soviet model» (MSU, 1997).
From 1995 to 2001 he worked as an assistant, senior lecturer and docent of the Political Process in Russia Department of the Faculty of Philosophy (MSU). From 2002 to 2006 he was a docent of the Global and Russian Politics Department at the Faculty of Philosophy (MSU).
He was one of the developers of the courses «Political regionalism» and «Applied Political Science» on the Faculty of Philosophy (MSU). Participated in lecturing «Modern political process in Russia» course.
He is the author of over 20 published scientific papers. The author of numerous publications in the media on various aspects of modern political and socioeconomic development of Russia.
From 2000 to 2011 he worked at the Research Institute of Social Systems at Lomonosov Moscow State University as the head of special programs division and later - as Deputy Director of the Institute.
At the same time from 2006 to 2011 he was employed as the director of development and project planning at OAO ‘Moskovskie Informatsionnie Tekhnologii’ (Moscow Information technologies).
From 2000 to 2001 he was a member of the State Council Working Group on preparation of proposals regarding the system of state power and governance bodies in Russian Federation.
In 2008-2009 — member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation (second convocation). It was approved by the Presidential Decree in September 2007).
In 2011 he was appointed assistant deputy chairman - the head of the Russian federation Staff of the Government.
From January to August 2012 — deputy head of the Presidential Domestic Policy Directorate.
On October 10, 2012 he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Non-profit Foundation - Institute for Socioeconomic and Political Research.
